What is prayer? is it merely spouting out a few commands to God? Is it telling him your dreams? Is it chanting someone elses words in hopes that God will listen to you, since he listened to them? It is so easy to throw just any words at God. It is so simple to demand things, as a spoiled brat would; but, is there reverence in your prayers? So often we are so busy thinking about ourselves that we forget to listen, and we are so lazy that we sit there and spend no time in preparing our case before the Lord God almighty. I believe that if one were to think that he were truly speaking to the creator of heaven and earth that he would be both reverent and submissive, both meek and careful aout his words, both truthful and never condescending or disrespectful. What has happened? Sometimes I believe we pray and never expect our prayers to be answered, yet Jesus said, " It is by faith you are healed" seek him and know him, he is there. Choose your words wisely, and most of all have faith, for God is truly there. I will leave you with the words of C. H. Spurgeon as encouragement, "God forbid that our prayershould be a mere leaping out of one's bedand kneeling down, and saying that comes first to hand; on the contrary, may we wait upon the Lordwith Holy fear and sacred awe."

wow its another day......something about college makes the days go by, and upon looking back its hard to remember all of the things youve.....soooooo busy......but its all good, cause when times get hard and there is a strain its always nice just to sit back with my guitar and let God know my heart, or to sit at a piano and do much the same........to sit in God's word and talk to him......man what a comfort that is. I appologize ahead of time for the poor grammar, but when you write as many papers as us Christian studies majors you just dont feel like worryin about it atleast for a while. I just want to encourage you guys no matter where you are in your lives, remember the Lord....please take nothing for granted, because you never know when the good things are gonna leave, or when the good times will turn bad, and the only sure thing is that we have a loving merciful savior who cares, and that is such a peace..........dont get me wrong though its been such a great day, everyay is a blessing.......I cant help but remind the Lord that he had the opportunity to take my life last night and every night and yett for some reason he decided to keep me here. I am so thankful for that.  I hope that your day is going well and that no matter who or where you are, if you have a prayer request let me know, and Ill keep you in my prayers. It is the most powerful option you have. well what to say? this has been a great weekend....kinda like having a spring break.....finally. Man I just want to praise God, he blesses me in so many ways that I just dont deserve. How is it that a God so big and amazing takes the time to look down on little old me and do thethings he does? All I can say is that earnestly seeking after him, loving him, and  living in his word are all worth while. I will never say that I do it perfectly, but I do have to say that they are necessary. Though sometimes things like reading his word and such become formulas and such we must remember the necessity of such things, also. Its so hard to find the line between legalism and true Christianity, and truly it gives one an idea of what the Jews struggled with. We must always remember that the difference made is the relationship that one has with Christ, and thus the only reason that we do these things is because of our love for him. "If you love me keep my commandments." So just meditate on these things. If you are having trouble feeling the presence of Christ during your quiet times then try one without the Bible and just let God know exactly how you feel. Its funny how some people pray nice things though their hearts are in turmoil; do you think you can trick God like you do other people? Hello! he can see the inner workings of your heart. So just let him know how you feel and if your angry at him or sad whatever let him know exactly how you feel, he already does anyway, but you see the beauty of free will is that he isnt going to do anything until you ask him to. So seek out his face and you will be amazed at what you will see....................................peave, love, one God, one way.......-Sparky
